このワインはバロッサヴァレーの北側にある３つの独特な「ローゼンベール葡萄畑」から選ばれました。
「ヴァインベールサンドブドウ園」は1990年に黄色、赤、茶色の粘土質の土の上の白い砂、その上に作られました。
「ローゼンヴァイクブドウ園」は1969年に赤井粘土質の土の上の茶色の砂壌土です。
もう一つの「ハイウエイワンヴィンヤード」はアルカリ性の粘土と石が深くまで混ざったプロファイルを持っています。
この３つの畑は「エステートグロウン カベルネソーヴィニヨン」に豊かな味と個性を提供します。
葡萄の木は厳しく育てるために少しだけ栄養と水分を与えます。そして拍車剪定により房の配置を改善して年間のブドウの数が制限されます。
ブルーベリーのほのかな香り、シガーボックスの様なブラックカラントが、ミントのほのかな香りと一緒に漂います。
味は上質なチョークのようなタンニンで、長い余韻の中に青色黒色の果実味を感じます。

HARVEST NOTES
The 2015/16 growing season yielded a warm, dry, Spring, with good conditions for flowering and fruit-set. A fortuitous 1.5 inches of rain fell from 21 January, followed by generally mild conditions throughout late January/February. On 9 March, another 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain fell, after which sugar levels dipped slightly. A warmer than average Spring and early summer (October -December maximum temps were 2-5C warmer than average) meant the vines got away at a cracking pace, growing well and setting a good number of bunches.
This parcel was fermented in 4 open ferments with 2 plunged and all twice daily pump overs and gently pushing down the cap, 8,9,11 & 13 days on skins.
After ferment is done, we press the juice from the skins with our computer controlled open slot air bag press to barrel. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation then we rack and return to barrel for maturation.
TASTING NOTES
Subtle aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant with cigar box notes entwined Blue & black fruits on the palate with hints of mint , fine chalky tannins and great length .

WINEMAKING
Winemaking note Fruit was harvested from 15 year old vines in an exceptional vineyard site from the Penbro Vineyard on the 22nd March 2019.
The vineyard is situated in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range with the soils influenced by ironstone, clay and gravel - perfect for low yielding vineyards. Tonnages were kept low, (approximately 1.5 tonnes/acre) to allow for maximum quality and flavour. The must was placed in small open pot fermenters and allowed to ferment naturally. I then hand plunged the pots every 8 hours for the duration of the ferment. Once the ferment was dry, the resulting wine was pressed off the skins and given time to settle before allowing a natural secondary fermentation. Separate parcels of the wine spent 12 months in French oak barriques, after which the final blending of select parcels took place.

Grapes are specially selected from small parcels of vines in South Eastern Australia. The vines are carefully cultivated to our specifications, with low yields producing intensely-flavoured grapes of outstanding quality. Red berry fruits and spice on the nose. The palate displays rich, ripe and juicy raspberry and plum, balanced by softly integrated oak. A smooth, warm finish.

NOSE: The accent is on spices with focused fruit, dark berries and earthy aromas.
PALATE: The palate displays ripe blackberries and spice followed by savoury overtones, all suported by a deft touch of oak from 12 months maturation. Soft tannins round off a precise and well-made Shiraz.
FOOD: Any Lamb dish, italian braises such as Stracotto di Manzo.
DRINK: Drink now or has good cellaring potential. Store in a dry cool environment.

主にクレア村の北端にあるブドウ畑の45年のリースリングの台木で栽培されているメルローから作られています。破砕した後、果汁を約10日間皮付で発酵させてからさらに14日間さらに皮と一緒に漬け込みます。
フレンチオークの樽で38ヶ月間熟成された後、31％シラーズとブレンドされて、出来上がったワインはほぼ黒色です。香りはプラムの様でスパイシー、そしてオークによって熟成されます。
舌ざわりは甘美で豊かで柔らかくそしてとても、とても寛大です。それはジューシーでフルーティーで、長く丸い余韻が続きます。それは添加物もフィルタリングもされておらず、非常に親しみやすく、今後10～15年間にわたって発展し続けるでしょう。

Made mostly from Merlot grapes grown on 45-year-old Riesling rootstock in a vineyard at the northern end of Clare. After crushing, the juice was fermented on skins for about 10 days and then allowed further skin contact for another 14 days.
Matured for 38 months in French oak hogsheads before being blended with 31% Shiraz, the resultant wine is almost black in colour. The nose is plummy and spicy and complemented by obvious but well integrated oak character. The late is luscious, rich and soft and very, very generous. It's juicy and fruity, it's long and it's round. It has not been fined or filtered and is very approachable now, it will continue to develop over the next 10-15 years.

I love making (and drinking) this wine! Rich, earthy with elegant and supple tannins; this Rhone inspired wine is a lovely blend of cool-climate spicy Shiraz combined with mild climate fullbodied Shiraz finely tempered by the savoury tannins of Mourvedre. This is a bold, modern Australian wine exhibiting aromas and flavours of blackberry and spice. The rich and full palate is complemented by hints of French oak leading to a seamless finish. Great to drink young, however time will reward those with patience…

Rank and File Shiraz is a great example of bold and rich shiraz
from some of the best vineyards in the Clare Valley.
Made from the fruit of old,low yielding vines it is almost black in colour with a complex nose of all the things i love　about shiraz.
It's spicy,it's peppery,it's chocolaty and it's plummy.
Take a sip and it's creamy and lush and impossibly shilky.
It's big and it's bala ced and it's just how shiraz from Clare should look.
